HUMAN SERVICES

The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) is the national organization providing compassionate care for the families of America’s fallen military heroes. When a member of America’s armed forces dies, TAPS is on the front lines providing compassionate care to the families left behind.

Since 1994, TAPS has assisted over 80,000 surviving family members, casualty officers and caregivers who are grieving the loss of a military loved one, regardless of the geography or the circumstances of their death. Today, approaching its 25th anniversary, TAPS is the leading professional organization serving the needs of those grieving loss in the military community.

TAPS provides peer-based emotional support, grief and trauma resources, seminars for adults, Good Grief Camps for children, casework assistance, connections to community-based care, and a 24/7 resource and information helpline for all who have been affected by a military loss. TAPS receives no government funding. Our services are free to the surviving loved ones we serve.

TAPS was created to offer support not available through other service organization, the military or the government. The heart of our organization is survivors helping survivors heal. We rely on the support of patriotic citizens to honor the promise our country made to these families when their loved ones put on the uniform to defend our freedoms. Our country promised to always remember those who sacrificed their life and to always care for the loved one they left behind.

As families face the heartache of loss, please support TAPS mission to let these grieving hearts know they are not forgotten.
